The New Irish Farm Cemetery opened at the outbreak of the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele). It was named after a nearby farm. During the final German advance from April to May 1918, new graves were added. At the time of the Armistice, it contained 73 graves but was then greatly enlarged with more than 4,500 new graves. @en |
