Op de stedelijke begraafplaats in het centrum van Veurne is een Frans massagraf voor 80 soldaten aanwezig. Op deze begraafplaats vind je ook een Frans ereperk met zo’n 150 graven. Tussen de Franse kruisjes staan ook 8 Arabische zerken. Je vindt hier ook het graf terug van Karel Cogge. Hij speelde een cruciale rol bij de onderwaterzetting van de IJzervlakte in 1914. @nl |

A French mass grave for 80 soldiers is present at the urban cemetery in the centre of Veurne. In this cemetery you will also find a French memorial plot with about 150 graves. Among the French crosses are also 8 Arab gravestones. The grave of Charles Cogge is here. He played a crucial role in the flooding of the Yser Plain in 1914. @en |
