Vanuit dit landhuis, waarvan de gevel dateert uit 1722 - 1727, werd de kasselrij van het Brugse Vrije bestuurd. Dit is het gebied rond Brugge, begrensd door de Noordzee, de Westerschelde en de IJzer. Van 1795 tot 1984 fungeerde het pand als gerechtshof. Vandaag huist er onder andere het Stadsarchief en is dit de verzamelplaats van het geschreven geheugen van de stad. Het landhuis heeft een oude assisenzaal en een renaissancezaal met een 16de-eeuwse, monumentale pronkschouw in hout, marmer en albast van de hand van Lanceloot Blondeel. @nl |

From this country house, whose façade dates from 1722 - 1727, the castellan domain of the Franc of Bruges was ruled. This is the area around Bruges, bordered by the North Sea, the Western Scheldt and the Yser river. From 1795 to 1984 the building functioned as a court of justice. Today, among other things, it houses the City Archives, which makes it the gathering place for the written memory of the city. The manor house has an old assize room and a Renaissance room with a 16th-century, monumental showcase in wood, marble and alabaster by Lanceloot Blondeel. @en |
