In de Zimmertoren en het Zimmerpaviljoen ontdek je het levenswerk van Louis Zimmer: de Jubelklok, de Astronomische Studio en de Wonderklok. De vroegere Corneliustoren uit de 14de eeuw, deel van de toenmalige stadsomwalling, werd in 1930 omgebouwd tot Zimmertoren. In 1960 werd het Zimmerpaviljoen gebouwd. Dit werd in 2015 volledig gemoderniseerd en aangevuld met de elektronische evolutie van het uurwerk sedert 1970, het overlijdensjaar van Zimmer. Voor de scholen werd ook een bijkomende permanente tentoonstelling georganiseerd rond het STEM-gebeuren (Science-Technology-Engineering- Mathematics) met als leidraad het "perpetuum mobile" begrip. @nl |

In the Zimmertoren and the Zimmerpavilion you can discover the life work of Louis Zimmer: the Jubilee Clock, the Astronomical Studio and the Wonder Clock. The former Cornelius tower, dating from the 14th century and which was part of the city wall at the time, was converted into the Zimmertoren in 1930. The Zimmerpavilion was built in 1960. It was fully modernised in 2015 and supplemented with the electronic evolution of the timepiece since 1970, the year of Zimmer’s death. For schools, an additional permanent exhibition was also organised around the STEM theme (Science-Technology-Engineering- Mathematics) with the ‘perpetuum mobile’ concept as the guiding principle. @en |
